The RECETOX Centre has been operating at the science-to-policy interface at the national, European and global levels for two decades. As the Stockholm Convention Regional Centre (SCRC) for capacity building and technology transfer it supports the implementation of the global conventions protecting human health from the chemical risks and presents its activities at the Conferences of Parties of these conventions at the regular basis.
This year, RECETOX was proud to team up with PARC (Partnership on chemicals risk assessment) and the EIRENE infrastructure to organize a side event on How science-policy partnership and research infrastructures support implementation of the Stockholm Convention on POPs held in the Geneva international conference centre (CICG) on 30 April 2025. The event was organized as a part of the 2025 BRS Conventions (The Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions) Conference of Parties (COPs) joint meeting and its traditional Fair themed Making visible the invisible. As it was part of the high level segment, Deputy minister of Environmet of the Czech Republic Eduard Levý opened the event and the inspiration for the future sustainability of the impact we jointly generate in PARC
RECETOX is grateful to PARC coordinator Pascal Sanders (ANSES), Marike Kolossa (UBA), Jacob van Klaveren (RIVM), Philip Marx-Stölting (BfR), Denis Sarigiannis (UATh) and our own Jana Klánová to give to the audience an overview of PARC`s contribution to the management of persistent organic pollutants and showcased tools, models, data and opportunities for researchers but also for representatives of governments and organizations for enhanced cooperation with PARC and EIRENE networks.
The side event has sparked interest at UNEP and delegates from several countries in the audience to seek collaboration in the future and visit the EIRENE and PARC booth for further information. Pascal Sanders said: "It’s extremely important to showcase what PARC is doing scientifically to support the global work of policymakers and risk managers.” and Jacob van Klaveren added that for him the event was “an inspiration for the future sustainability of the impact we jointly generate in PARC”.

The EIRENE IMP project was officially launched during a two-day hybrid kick-off meeting held on 25–26 June 2026 at the Technology Centre Prague. The opening event brought together project partners, representatives of national nodes of the EIRENE RI research infrastructure, and project managers from the beneficiary and the European Commission.
