On 15–16 June 2026, Masaryk University hosted the RIFF Thematic Summit on Health, Food, Environment, and Data & Computing Research Infrastructures in Brno. The event brought together representatives of European and Ukrainian research infrastructures, researchers, and policymakers to discuss opportunities for collaboration and the integration of Ukrainian research communities into the European Research Area.
EIRENE and RECETOX contributed to the summit programme through expert presentations and infrastructure outreach activities. Prof. Jana Klánová, Director of RECETOX and Coordinator of EIRENE, delivered two presentations introducing EIRENE and its services within the environmental and health and food research infrastructure domains. Her talks highlighted the infrastructure’s capacities, expertise, and opportunities available to the international research community.
In addition, Prof. Klánová chaired one of the thematic sessions on Tuesday, facilitating discussions on the role of research infrastructures in advancing scientific cooperation and addressing societal challenges.
To complement the summit programme, RECETOX offered participants guided tours of its laboratories and biobanking facilities on Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon. The tours provided visitors with an opportunity to explore RECETOX’s research environment, learn about its analytical capabilities, and gain insight into the operation of its biobank and research infrastructure services.
Through its participation, EIRENE and RECETOX had the opportunity to showcase their research capacities, engage with potential partners, and contribute to strengthening connections between European and Ukrainian research infrastructures.
