The fourth, unofficial, topic was the sustainability and future financing of the Research Infrastructure in the perspective of new FP10 progamme. The challenges of financial sustainability were raised by the EC director Anna Panagopoulou, and were discussed heavily both on the stage and during the breaks among all the delegates. While Anna Panagopoulou was presenting the Future vision for the RIs from the point of view of the European Commission, Gelsomina Pappalardo discussed the overview of the ESFRI Landscape Analysis, which presented the current state, vision and plan from the point of view of ESFRI. At the end of the first day, two new ERICs were inaugurated and entered the club of other almost thirty ERICs.
