WP7 - EIRENE recognition, engagement, and global collaboration (months 1-18)

Objectives

Foster inclusive and sustained user engagement, strengthen global collaboration and interoperability, and implement a framework for monitoring socioeconomic impact and recognition.

Tasks (months 1-18)

T7.1 – User and Stakeholder Engagement (Task leader: ORU, partners UNIVIE, MU, JSI)
The task will establish a framework (User and Stakeholder Engagement Framework, D7.1, M18, ORU) with inclusive processes and tools that foster trust, transparency, and long-term relationships. User attraction will be addressed by confirming target groups, identifying needs, and investigating involvement strategies (ORU). This will be supported by tailored communication strategies (ORU). User understanding will be enhanced through structured, continuous feedback collection, ensuring that services evolve in response to emerging needs. Structured feedback will monitor satisfaction, guide refinement, and promote adaptability (ORU, JSI, MU, UNIVIE). Transparent interaction tools will be selected &ż implemented (ORU), forming the basis for long-term engagement and trust.

T7.2 – Global Exposome Collaboration (Task leader: MU, partners UNIVIE, ORU, NHRF, CNR, Inserm, UU, CU, VITO)
To strengthen its global relevance and impact, EIRENE will build strategic partnerships with leading infrastructures and initiatives such as ELIXIR, BBMRI-ERIC, PARC, HERA, and international exposome networks like NEXUS and IHEN (UU, CU, NHRF). Collaboration will extend beyond Europe to USA and Global South partners, CU will coordinate these efforts. By connecting with regulatory agencies, funding bodies, and advocacy organizations, EIRENE aims to create a trusted and inclusive network that supports knowledge sharing and expands access to exposome research, this will be ensured by CNR, Inserm, VITO and CU. Regular outreach activities (webinars, conferences, joint training etc., MU, UNIVIE, NHRF) will support the development of a globally connected research infrastructure, reinforcing Europe's leadership in this field. This will result in a Global Collaboration Roadmap (D7.2, M18, MU).

T7.3 - Development of an integrated socio‑economic evaluation and recognition metrics architecture (Task leader: AUTH, partners NHRF, MU, ORU, Inserm, all)
Building on the preparatory phase outcomes, the task will co-design an integrated framework for socioeconomic impact assessment and recognition monitoring, combining KPIs across economic, societal, scientific, and reputational dimensions. It will refine the Research Infrastructure Impact Assessment Toolkit for EIRENE, covering macroeconomic indicators, policy uptake, scientific visibility, stakeholder engagement, media presence, and user satisfaction. A KPI Working Group (M2, M6, AUTH) with representatives from all WPs (and all project partners) will be established to review, align, and validate the indicators, while the evaluation system adapts the Cost–Benefit Analysis protocol with data sources, models, and reporting templates. A pilot recognition survey will engage direct and indirect users, feeding results into a secure, GDPR-compliant online dashboard (D7.3, M18, AUTH) that consolidates CBA inputs, survey results, and illustrative case studies, providing real-time insights and facilitating continuous performance monitoring. A scenario-based forecasting module, embedded within the CBA framework, will project socioeconomic costs and benefits over 5-10 years, with documented assumptions to inform WP3’s financial-economic modelling and policy planning. MU will ensure proper connection to business and financial planning.
